Dear Readers: Comment Love Group

Dear Readers:

So I was sitting around looking at my sad blog with no comments on any of my posts and I was wondering what I could do to change that.
I post my reviews on Crazy Book Sluts Facebook account and twitter account. I comment on other peoples blog's but it doesn't seem to be working out the way I planned.

With that said I will continue to do the above things because I enjoy it, but.......... bam! It came to me.... a comment group of sorts. Now I know this is not a new idea and that many groups of this nature are around the blogging world but what's one more?

Here is the stupid rule.
{ at least there is only one}

If you are a part of the comment group you must leave 3-5 comments on each of the other blog's in the group a week. Of course I do not have the time to go and check that you hold up to this end of the deal but if you don't comment don't expect others to come show you any love. If it is brought to my attention or I happen to notice your not showing the comment love than I will remove your blog from this list. Trust me, I know things come up and blogging has to go on the back burner. No one understands that more than me..... remember in my real life I'm a mommy to 4 young boys!

Let's just have a good time and share some comment love with one another.

Okay now I am going to hit publish and hope this is not a dud! Maybe if you sign up you can share the news with a friend or two to help spread the word   ( but only if you really, really, really, really want to! I mean you want to, right?) Sign up below!

Until next time... Happy Reading!

Dear Readers: 2012 Reading Challenges

Dear Readers:

TGIF!!! And not a moment to soon, right?

Today's question is brought to you by the year 2012.

What reading challenges will you be partaking in this upcoming year? Are you scaling back or taking on more?

I would love to see ( and be linked) to the challenges you are either hosting or taking part in... please??!?!
Ü

Crazy Book Slut is hosting a new one this year...
I hope you all { or at least some} will be signing up??

I am also going to be partaking in
hosted by The Book Vixen

I plan on signing up for a few more just need to weed out the ones that worked for me this year and the ones that didn't... stay tuned!

On the note of ones that did not work for me this year, Once Upon a Time. I made this one and I just fell short this year on it. My reading "likes" changed and this challenge no longer "fits". I will not be hosting it again this year.

Hope you all have an amazing weekend!

Until next time...Happy Reading!

Dear Readers: Content Warning

Dear Crazy Book Slut Readers,

I have been thinking a lot about content warning, you all know them, seen them around the block a time or two.

It's when you get a scene before entering a blog saying giving you a content warning that the blog you are about to visit is for the "mature audience".

So my question is... close the blog out or keep on trucking?

I keep on trucking and I will admit that I enjoy seeing them because it gives me a feeling that the blog I am about to enter might be of like mind. Same reading preferences!

Of course a lot of my favorite blogs do not have them but if I were to break it down I would say about 70% of the blogs I visit do have Content Warning.

So let's hear it readers, what are your thoughts on Content Warning. I want to hear both sides....spill it!

Until next time...Happy Reading!

Dear Readers: 2x the fun at Crazy Book Slut

We have a new writer here at Crazy Book Slut.
I would like you all to meet Allison...

Below you will find 10 questions to help you all get to know Allison a bit more ( I on the other hand have known her since the 10th grade so I get to have all the juicy details stored in memory). HA HA HA!

1. Name your alter ego?
I kept coming back to this question, because at first I was trying to be serious. Finally I said, “heck with this,” and am throwing caution with the wind and making this fun. Since this is a book blog I am choosing two character I wish would be my alter ego. I would love to mesh their personalities together to make one. With that said my alter ego would be a mix between Hermione Granger and Rebecca Bloomwood. I want the easy intelligence and magic that is Hermione. How can you not choose someone who can “swish and flick” like the best of them? I also would love the carefree, shopaholic, can get herself in and out of any messy situation like Rebecca Bloomwood. Some would find her ditzy, but I find her very lucky and resourceful. I would definitely love a little genius with a side luck in my life.

2. What genre of book do you tend to read most? Why?
I have a genre du jour mentality. If I think I will like it I will read it. Lately I find myself reading British Chick Lit. Whenever I go light and airy you know I have just read a very deep and emotional book.

3. What genre of book do you tend to stay clear of? Why?
I usually stay away from Science Fiction. I am just not a science fiction reading type of gal.

4. What book are you reading right now?
Twenties Girl by Sophie Kinsella (Light and airy)

5. What is the last book you read?
Not My Daughter by Barbra Delinsky (Deep and emotional… especially when you are a mom to 2 girls)

6. The question we all hate to answer, but I am asking it anyways... Who is your favorite author(s)?
I would have to say Kate Chopin. She wasn’t one to go by the rules of society and for that I love her! Edna Pontellier is one of my most favorite characters of all time.

7. Favorite book(s)?
The Awakening by Kate Chopin, Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen, Harry Potter 1-7 by J.K Rowling, and many, many more.

8. Favorite couple in a book? ( any relationship type works, friendship, family, lovers)
Hermione Granger and Ron Weasley are my favorite couple. They, to me, are the epitome of opposites attract. I am impartial since that would describe me and my hubs.

9. Books to movies, thoughts? Books are better or worse? Do you prefer to read the book before seeing the movie? Examples?

I have never seen a movie where it beats the book. It’s actually kind of moot, since the movie must be a condensed version of the book itself. For that reason I must ALWAYS read the book before the movie. I have done it backwards a couple times. I swear it wasn’t my fault, since I didn’t know the movie was first a book.

10. What book has been on your to be read list the longest?

What is keeping you from reading it?
Emma by Jane AustenAnything rich with language like anything by Jane Austen takes time and your undivided attention to really appreciate it. This will probably be the first book I read when my 2 year old is in school full time.

Welcome Allison to Crazy Book Slut!! I know our readers will love you as much as I do!!
Show Allison some love my friends!

Dear Readers: You can call me fancy if you want to...

and it would be 100% true!

Are you seeing my new face lift? Gorgeous, sassy, fun and spunky, right?

I think I am in love, no wait I am IN love!

The amazing and oh so talented Danny from Dreamy Blogs is the master mind behind my new look. I am finding myself unable to close the page, I just want to sit and stare at it!

Why don't you grab my new and improved button and place it on your blog, it really wants to go to your blog, don't let it down!

Make sure to keep Danny in mind for your blog layout needs, I promise you will not regret it!

Thank you Danny!!!

I have one more exciting thing to announce, be patient it is coming!

Dear Readers: I am Crazy Book Slut

To all of you I'm the gal behind Crazy Book Slut, but ( there is always a but) first I have to be...
1. mama to my four little boys
2. Wife to my main man.

Your probably thinking duh?!?!? we all know this and wouldn't assume it to be any other way. I bring this up because those 5 dudes I just mentioned play a huge factor on the type of blog I manage and they influence my reviews.

Translation:

I do NOT have 30 minutes, 20 minutes, heck I am lucky to have 10 minutes to pound out a blog post because I am needed in other places, and at times 2 places at once.

The point I am trying to make is this... if you are looking for an in depth, politically correct, perfect grammar and the likes of these things, I am not your blog! If your looking for honest, simple reviews from a girl who is passionate about reading and anything and everything books, I am your blog.

I blog because I love to read and it gives me the stage to voice my love. I don't blog for free things ( although it is nice). I don't blog to see if I can reach 1000 followers ( although it would nice). I don't blog for the comments ( although tehy are nice).

I blog because I love it. I blog because I want to hear other's thoughts on books. I blog because I have made some terrific friends in doing so.

Blogging as allowed me to be my inner diva.
It has allowed me to be Crazy Book Slut!

Until next time...
Happy Reading!

Dear Readers: To Vlog or Not Vlog....

Dear Readers:

To vlog or not to vlog, that is the question of the day?

What are your thoughts on vlogging? Do you love it? Hate it? Scared to try it? ( For the record I fall into this category).

If you do vlog is there more pressure than if you just wrote out your blog post? Do you get more reader interaction with vlogging vs blogging? How do you decide what you will blog and what deserves a vlog?

By this post you can guess that I am thinking about not being a chicken and giving it a go, but change is scary and well vlogging means I might actually have to put makeup on ( hey you, don't judge me).
::::snicker::::

So lay it on me, give me your pro's and cons on vlogging?!?!?

Until next time...

Dear Readers:You have got to be kidding me??!?!!?!?!?!?

Notice anything wrong here at Crazy Book Slut this morning?

Something empty, something boring, something ugly?

Something that happened last night and has had me in a mood ever since, and I am not talking about a good mood?

My header went AWOL! What?!?!? Why?!?!?! How?!?!?!

No, I am dumb and do not have it backed up on my new laptop and the computer that the backup is on, is fried at the moment and not sure if it is fixable!

Needless to say I have a case of the Monday's, boo hiss!

So, now I am in need of a new blog design, just what my bank account did not want to hear. Can you all point me to places that do great blog designs, not to costly and ones that don't have a wait list of next summer.

Is it too early to drink wine? It's 10am here in So Cal?
Until next time...

Dear Readers: Blog Pet Peeves

Dear Readers,
Today I would like to ask what are your pet peeves when it comes to book blogging and or bloggers? You can rant until you are content or just share a bit of a pet peeve. Dying to know if we have the same pet peeves.

So what are my pet peeves you ask? Contests that have ended and weeks later there is still not a winner announced. I know that sounds mean of me and trust me I know full well about the real world getting in the way of blogging, but if you said you would host a challenge than it is really important to try your best and follow the rules you made, right?

When I have a contest on either of my blogs, I write the winning announcement at the same time, so all I have to add is the winner, can't get much easier than that.

Okay, so there you have it, one of my pet peeves, please share yours!
Until next time...
Happy Reading!
