This weeks Question:

Who is your blogger BFF? Tell us a little bit about him or her? If not tell us why you need or don’t need a blogger BFF.

A year ago I would have been able to say I had a blogger BFF but then blogging took a spot on the back burner for a year and some change. It feels like I am back at square one which is both scary and fun! Fresh start! If you would like to be my blogger BFF I am down!
HA HA HA!
Cant wait to see how others answered this question and find new blogs to stalk!

Happy Friday everyone!

Once in a Lifetime by Jill Shalvis { Review }

Once in a Lifetime
{ Lucky Harbor #9}
by Jill Shalvis
Expected publication: February 18th 2014
         by Grand Central Publishing

SOMETIMES WRONG IS OH-SO-RIGHT

After a wrenching loss, Ben McDaniel tried to escape his grief by working in dangerous, war-torn places like Africa and the Middle East. Now he's back in his hometown and face-to-face with Aubrey Wellington, the hot-as-hell woman who is trouble with a capital T. Family and friends insist she's not the one to ease his pain, but Aubrey sparks an intense desire that gives Ben hope for the future.

Determined to right the wrongs of her past, Aubrey is working hard to make amends. But by far, the toughest challenge to her plan is sexy, brooding Ben - even though he has absolutely no idea what she's done . . .

Can this unlikely couple defy the odds and win over the little town of Lucky Harbor?

First Line(s): There was one universal truth in Lucky Harbor, Washington- you could hide a pot of gold in broad daylight and no one would steal it, but you couldn't hide a secret.

My Review:  Jill Shalvis is my number one go to author.  I have said this before and I will say it again and again. She is a sure thang! You want hunky guys? Cool down to earth female characters? Real, light, funny stories? You get all of those things in anyone of Jill Shalvis' novels. Go ahead pick any of them up and prove me wrong.

Ben and Aubrey are each others perfect ying to the others yang. They couldn't be anymore different but that is what makes this story line seem so real and honest. Both have things in their pass they are trying to work through and neither wanted a relationship but this story proves that things happen when we least expect them.

I'll close with this statement, if Lucky Harbor really existed, I'd book my one way ticket to there like yesterday.

All the Lucky Harbor novels could stand alone but you would be missing out on such a wonderful series if you go out of order, I promise you wont be sorry,

Back To You by Jessica Scott { Review}

Back To You
{ Coming Home #3}
by Jessica Scott

He’s in for the fight of his life . . .

Army captain Trent Davila loved his wife, Laura, and their two beautiful children. But when he almost lost his life in combat, something inside him died. He couldn’t explain the emptiness he felt or bridge the growing distance between him and his family—so he deployed again. And again. And again…until his marriage reaches its breaking point. Now, with everything on the line, Trent has one last chance to prove to his wife that he can be the man she needs …if she’ll have him
…to win back his only love.

Laura is blindsided when Trent returns home. Time and again, he chose his men over his family, and she’s just beginning to put the pieces of her shattered heart back together. But when Trent faces a court martial on false charges, only Laura can save him. What begins as an act of kindness to protect his career inflames a desire she thought long buried—and a love that won’t be denied. But can she trust that this time he’s back to stay?

First Line(s): " I put your checkbook in the front pocket of your rucksack.

Favorite Line(s): Even if he went to the ends of the earth, his wife would still be the only woman who did it for him.

My Review: Jessica Scott is quickly becoming one of my favorite go to authors.  Her writing seems so effortless and it just flows from one page to the next. Add the fact that she writes about military men and I am hooked.

I found this book hit home a lot with my family. It spoke to me in volumes and went so much deeper than the characters on the page. I felt like at any given moment this story could be our story. Ok, so my husband never got court martial ( ha ha ha) but I related with a lot of the other story lines. Jessica Scott was able to balance the romance and reality of what our men and women face daily when they return home from war perfectly. At times I found my heart breaking while reading Back to You.

The emotions in this book were raw and honest and ran deep. A very quick and intense read, that will have you rooting for Trent and Laura the whole way through.
