Come a Little Bit Closer by Bella Andre {Review}

Come a Little Bit Closer
{ Sullivan Series #7}
by Bella Andre

Kindle Edition
Published November 27th 2012 by Oak Press, LLC

Movie star Smith Sullivan can’t afford any distractions. He’s staking his entire reputation on his new film...but he can’t stop thinking about Valentina Landon and the fire he sees smoldering just beneath the surface of her cool exterior.

Valentina isn’t averse to sensual pleasure, or even to the idea of finding true love, but as a Hollywood business manager she’s watched too many smart women fall for actors...only to be torn apart when the fairytale comes to its inevitable end.

But when intense weeks together on set turn their heated attraction into red-hot flames of passion, Smith knows he has to find a way to convince Valentina to let him get a little bit closer. Close enough to completely steal her heart...the way she’s stolen his from the start.

First Line: Smith Sullivan loved his fans.

Favorite Line(s): For the first time in his entire life, he was so overcome with love he simply couldn't get any other part of his body to work, save his heart, which beat only for her.

My Review: I've been waiting for Smith's story for what feels like forever and a day and now that I have read it.... WORTH THE WAIT!

The Sullivan series gives you everything you are looking for in a romance novel. Sweet, caring, loyal characters ( I can't think of a more loyal family in any other books than the Sullivan clan). We get the sexy love scenes without being to over the top in the raunchy department. Bella Andre knows her romance and she leaves her readers waiting not so patiently for her next book to be released.

You would think after 7 books in a series the story line would start to become predictable or lacking, and that is just not the case when it comes to Come a Little Bit Closer. I was just as much into this book as I was the first  in the series. Like don't bug me, eat a bowl of cereal, I am not getting up from this chair until I am done reading this book... hooked!

If you have not started reading this series, you must! Trust me when I say you will not be sorry... oh wait, you will be! You will be sorry it took you so long to start the series.

Seducing Cinderella by Gina L. Maxwell { Review }

Seducing Cinderella
{ Fighting for Love #1}
by Gina L. Maxwell

ebook, 435 pages
Published July 20th 2012
 by Entangled Publishing, LLC (Brazen)

Mixed martial arts fighter Reid Andrews’s chance to reclaim his title as light heavyweight champ is shattered when he’s injured only months before the rematch. To make sure he’s healed in time, his trainer sends him to recuperate under a professional’s care—Reid’s best friend’s little sister, all grown up.

Disorganized and bookish Lucie Miller needs some professional help of her own. She’d do anything to catch the eye of a doctor she’s crushed on for years, so when Reid offers seduction lessons in exchange for 24/7 conditioning for the biggest fight of his career, Lucie jumps at the chance.

Soon Reid finds him himself in the fight of his life...winning Lucie's heart before she gives it to someone else.

First Line(s): Lucie Miller didn't bother looking up when she heard the knock on her office door.

Favorite Line(s): “Give more than your everything or you'll amount to nothing.”

My Review: Seducing Cinderella was a fun and quick read! I adored the characters and they way they seemed to play off each other perfectly.

Reid, holy hottness AND he was a nice guy, is that even possible? The chemistry between Reid and Lucie was effortless, endearing and real!
I believe most woman can relate to Lucie, we all battle insecurities and this was just another reason it was so easy to relate to Lucie's character.

I really liked Seducing Cinderella! This is my first book by Gina L. Maxwell but I'm excited to check out more from her in the near future. Going to check in to the rest of this series ( it appears 3 more books are set to hit shelves soon).

Simply Irresistible by Rachel Gibson {Review}

Simply Irresistible
{ Chinooks Hockey Team #1}
by

Mass Market Paperback, 375 pages
Published January 1st 1998 by Avon

Georgeanne Howard, charm school graduate and Southern bell extraordinaire, leaves her fiance at the altar when she realizes she just can't marry a man old enough to be her grandfather, no matter how rich he is. John Kowalsky unknowingly helps her escape, and only when it's too late does he realize that he's absconded with his boss's bride. At the height of his hockey career, this bad boy isn't looking to be anyone's savior but his own, no matter how beautiful this angel may be. But a long night stretches ahead of them--a night too sultry to resist temptation.

First Line(s): The night before Virgil Duffy's wedding, a summer storm pounded the Puget Sound.

Favorite Line(s): " You're like the best present I've ever had, like every Christmas all wrapped up in one amazing package."

My Review:I really enjoyed this book but the mis-spellings in it were killing me!
For example:
" I know this whole dung sounds impetuous, but I really do love Huge,"

DUNG!! As in animals poo... manure!
How romantic!

Once I allowed myself to stop seeing ( or maybe caring) about all the mis-spelled words I was able to enjoy the sweet story of  Georgeanne and John. What a nice treat it was to see their relationships in all the different stages and it being raw throughout the story. You felt what they felt.

I'm mad at myself that this story has been waiting on my TBR pile for so long. I look forward to reading the rest of this series in 2013.

My Rating: Photobucket

I'm giving Simply Irresistible a 4 based on story and not mis-spellings. As a book blogger that is what is most important to me... were you able to get me to fall in love with the story line and Rachel did.
