Dear Readers: Giveaway Winners

Dear Readers,
When you win a contest online how long do you give them for the item to be delivered? Do you feel guilty emailing them when said item does not arrive? What do you say?

Until next time...
Happy Reading!

I don't email, even though I have considered it. There were 2 prizes I won in September that I never received. If it is something coming from a second source, I would say 4-6 weeks at least. If it is a prize directly from the blogger? Hmm, that's a tough one.

I would say give at least 4-6 weeks before trying to contact and then if it's during holiday season maybe even an extra week because folks have different systems with how they mail things. Some may mail every single package and then some hold their packages until they have several packages to take to the post office at once. If it's been over 6 or 7 weeks I would drop a email and just let them know you wanted to check on your prize because it had not come yet and you were worried it had gotten lost in the mail which hopefully wont be the case. :)

How funny that you should blog this question. I just won my first book contest yesterday, but I didn't know there was a possibility I might not even receive it now! eep

Tena, I know I am supposed to mail you a package and will do so on Monday (my huge life obligations ended today). I know I should have hit the post office sooner, but I've been swamped and mailings have just fallen by the wayside. I apologize, but sometimes unexpected commitments do get in the way of sending things.

I won a contest a a "long" (in MY clock) time ago, and I still haven't received my book.
Also, great news! I got Life after Genius in the mail yesterday!

For the most part they come pretty quickly, no longer then two weeks. I did win one about two months ago and it has yet to come. I did contact the person holding the contest only because it was a friend of mine. Did they give you a time frame?

Yes, I will email them! I usually try and give them close to 2 months before doing so. After all, they don't know if it got lost or whatever, if you don't let know you haven't recieved the package.. I don't demand, I just politely ask. I always keep the email I'm sent and forward it back so they will know what you are talking about.. Everyone has always been really nice about the emails. I once won a book and it took close to a year before I recieved it!! I had forgotten about it until it arrived. And I always try and let them know I did recieve the book!!
