In My Mailbox: 11/15/09

In My Mailbox is hosted by The Story Siren! It has been a slow week which is alright by me, gives me a chance to play catch up!

Brother turns on brother to win the ultimate prize, the throne of England, in this dazzling account of the wars of the Plantagenets. They are the claimants and kings who ruled England before the Tudors, and now Philippa Gregory brings them to life through the dramatic and intimate stories of the secret players: the indomitable women, starting with Elizabeth Woodville, the White Queen.

The White Queen tells the story of a woman of extraordinary beauty and ambition who, catching the eye of the newly crowned boy king, marries him in secret and ascends to royalty. While Elizabeth rises to the demands of her exalted position and fights for the success of her family, her two sons become central figures in a mystery that has confounded historians for centuries: the missing princes in the Tower of London...

For the first time, here is every Sookie Stackhouse story ever written- together in one volume.

In "Fairy Dust," Sookie finds her mind-reading talents in demand when a fairy from a set of triplets gets dusted.

" Dracula Night" may be the commemoration of the Prince of Darkness's birth, but it's Sookie who gets a tasty-looking present.

Learning that her cousin is dead is shocking enough for Sookie. Learning that her cousin was a vampire who got staked leaves her speechless in " One Word Answer".

When Sookie teams up with her witchy friend Amelia to discover who has it out for Bon Temp's most successful agent, they get " Lucky".
A solo Sookie has the holiday blues in "Gift Wrap", until she has an unexpected encounter with someone who has bigger problems than loneliness.

Isn't Philippa Gregory the best? I don't usually read historical fiction, but have enjoyed her books in the past. May have to pick up this one as well.

Happy reading!

Great selection! I'm now wondering how I've managed to go this long without reading any Charlaine Harris. I should fix that.
