I've just started Jokers Club, but I liked this description at the beginning.
Tattered clothes hung on his thin body, lending him the appearance of a walking scarecrow. I wanted to catch up to him, find out who he was and where he was going. (pp 2-3)
Out of context it's just so so, but in the eerie setting it's an interesting teaser.
p.s. Your teaser scared my socks off!
