Aloha Friday: 11/13/09

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that we take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So I thought that on Fridays I would take it easy on posting, too. Therefore, I’ll ask a simple question for you to answer. Nothing that requires a lengthy response. Click above button to get more info.

Here is my question this week:

With the holidays upon us what are you wishing to unwrap?

Do you give books as gifts?

Did you enter to win a Noobie Kindle?
Aloha!!!
Until next time...
Happy Reading!

I would love to unwrap my hubby!
Being that he is deployed, that would mean he was HOME!
As for books, I love giving them as gifts!

Good one, adding that little link in there!...LOL. I did enter, thanks! I do give books as gifts, actually quite often. I seem to think I know my friends and family pretty well and know what they enjoy reading.

Love your blog, this is my first time over here!

My family is spread out all over the country, so we send Christmas Wishlists to each other and get in contact with everybody to decide who is buying what for whom.

I e-mailed my Wishlist to my family today, and in contained about 100 books and giftcards...to the bookstore and amazon. ~laughs~

I also specified that I would appreciate it if someone buys me more than one book, to wrap them each individually. More presents to open that way and more suspenseful. ~snickers~

I actually don't buy books for my family. I am surprisingly the only one that reads. I wonder where I get it from?

I'd love to unwrap a book (or several) and stuff for my house like a new chandelier. We give our kids books as gifts all the time. At our house books are special.

Yes, especially if the books were on sale. I'm not sure though if my sisters ever used the cookbooks I gave them. Ha ha.

I'd like to unwrap someone who would clean and cook at my house for the holidays!

I give books as presents, but usually it is in the form of a gift card to Barns and Noble if I don't know a particular book they would like. That way they can get just the right book for them.

I have a Kindle and love it.

Sometimes I give books as gifts, depending on the person and the title.

What I would "wish to unwrap" is a check for $40,000...I would say a million, but it would all go to my head. I would be able to pay off all debts and start a good savings account with that.

I am hoping to get some gift certificates :) Amazon or books a million or something like that!

I'd love to unwrap the pride and prejudice soundtrack (it's on my list, so I hope hubby remembers to order it from amazon. ;P)

I really enjoy giving books as gifts-- but, I don't have many people on my gift giving lists that are big readers.

Happy Aloha Friday!

I would love to unwrap a blackberry storms 2 or a kitchen aid. Not this year though. Our focus is the kids.

I'd just like to see the joy on my son's face this Christmas. I don't really need anything for myself. :) I love to give books or gift cards to book stores.

I always give books to the kids as gifts. They usually don't get too excited over them though. I love gifts, but don't expect any this year. No $$ for gifts for mom and dad this year.

After a scary battle with cancer, I am now always wishing to unwrap "GOOD HEALTH"! After that, unwrapping a little cash and a vacation would be fine too! :))
P.S. Giving books as a gift is a wonderful thing to do for new babies and kids!

The only thing I want for Christmas is to be able to start work on The Stone House.

I give books as gifts - I can't help it, it's like a compulsory thing inside me. I'd love to unwrap a round the world ticket. My travelling dreams are getting closer and closer the more I plan for it so that would be a dream. :)

Hmm... I would love to unwrap a few day vacation for Christmas. I've always thought that would be a lot of fun.

I'm getting more into the mood of giving books as gifts. I'm definitely planning on doing it more this upcoming holiday season. I'm struggling with what to get for the reluctant readers I know, though.
