Private: Review

by Kate Brian

"Tradition, Honor, Excellence... and secrets so dark they're almost invisible.

" Fifteen year-old Reed Brennan wins a scholarship to Easton Academy- the golden ticket away from her pill- popping mother and run-of-the-mill suburban life. But when she arrives on the beautiful, tradition- steeped campus of Easton, everyone is just a bit more sophisticated, a bit more gorgeous, and a lot wealthier than she ever thought possible. Reed realizes that even though she has been accepted to Easton, Easton has not accepted her. She feels like she's on the outside looking in.

"Until she meets the Billing Girls

"They are the most beautiful, intelligent, and intensely confident girls on campus. And they know it. They hold all the power in a world where power is fleeting but means everything. Reed vows to do whatever it takes to be accepted into their inner circle.

"Reed uses every part of herself-the good, the bad, the beautiful- to get closer to the Billings Girls. She quickly discovers that inside their secret parties and mountains of attitude, hanging in their designer clothing- packed closets the Billings Girls have skeletons. And they'll do anyhting to keep their secrets private".

I knew nothing about this book until last week when I was strolling other book blogs and came across a review on Girls with Books blog. They spoke highly of it, and I was in need of more books that were fast reads, and light! My brain just wasn't going to wrap around anything more than that when it came to my reading.

I am glad I picked this book up, it was everything I needed a book to be at this moment in my life, fast and light! I think most girls/women will be able to relate to at least one of the female characters in this book, no matter how long ago we were in highschool ( and no I am not giving a number to how many years it has been for me now).

After reading the back cover I thought it would go deeper into the dark skeletons the Billings Girls have, but it didn't. Now that I see this series has 9 books ( could be more) makes sense why they gave just enough to get you to pick up the next book in the series.

** Parents this book does contain alot of adult content, and while I am certain a lot of teenage girls no about this stuff in some form if you are not comfortable with your girls reading this, you might what to either read it first or put a ninx to it. **

I am giving Private 4 stars and it falls into these reading challenges...

Another good recommend would be the trilogy by LIbba Bray, also about teenage girls but set in the late 1800s on a finishing school.
Good review. I may pick this up for a quick read. I've been reading some doosies myself lately!
Love your blog.
