Crazy Book Slut is being held hostage!

Anyone know where to get about two more hours extra in each day? Man I am so backed up in the book department. I need to find a hole somewhere that the monkey's can't find and hide in it for a few days. Either that or I need to learn how to read about two books in one day.

Something tells me me I am screwed because you can't buy more hours, their is no magic hole to hide in, and I can't read 2 books in one day, unless they are children's books!

How do you stay ontop of your TBR pile? Do you ever feel like a prisioner to it? I hate feeling this way!
Until next time...
Happy Reading!

Tena, I feel that way all the time. Lately it feels like there is too much to do and too little time. I keep saying if I could take about a month off maybe I'd start to catch up. Really, I'm serious.
Enjoy the reading you can do...life is too short to worry about the things you can't get to. I know you get to the most important ones, your little monkeys :) There's a time and season for everything...I think the trick is to enjoy each moment right where you are. Heck, you read more than me and my monkeys are all grown up! Have a Great Night :)

Staying on top of the TBR pile? I've always been under it and thought that is where I belonged. Guess I was doing something wrong. :( Darn! At least now I know.

I wish you luck getting out from under yours.

I am always behind..always under a mountain of books and yet always wanting more..BOOKS!! It is an addiction of epic proportions and I don't think that I will ever be free of it.

The best way that I have found to control it is by getting a notebook and cataloge all my books and put them in order of when they will hit the shelves and go from there. I also write down those that I need to review, those that I want to buy and why and then those that I can borrow, beg or trade for. It helps me when I write things down :)

I know how you feel I look at all those books around me that I haven't read yet and wish i had a few extra hours in the day to read them all.

I'm there with you 24/7. :) I've stopped watching TV in 2008. Before then, I was watching anywhere from 2 - 4 hours nightly. When I gave that up, I read more. I also listen to audio. This helps with an additional four books monthly.

Another thing is I don't accept so many books to review. I've had to stop...I still have gobs though. It's hard to find a balance.

I don't set very high goals for myself--just attainable ones! For me, that's one book a month. Then I figure up how many pages I have to read a day in order to have it read by the end of the month. It's so exciting when I get a few days ahead, lol! Yep. It's the small things that excite me!

Tena - My TBR pile just keeps growing and soon it's going to be taking over my office here at home! I just can't seem to say no to books and review requests. And of course, if I see a book that I want - I just buy it! I know...I know...it's terrible, but I enjoy my books sooo much! We're all just prisoners together!!!!

Have you tried getting audiobooks and letting them read to you? The recent ones include music and are sometimes even read by the author so you get more of an experience... plus, it tells you right on the box how long it's going to take to read and you can make time.
