Forever in Blue by Ann Brashares

" In their latest episode, Bridget goes to Turkey on an archaeological excavation and Lena takes a painting class in Providence. Tibby stays in New York to take classes, and Carmen attends a theater festival in Vermont to work as backstage crew. There are new love interests, loss of virginity, and breakups and makeups. The themes are familiar, but fans who already identify with the characters will want to read more about their latest exploits. The pants pay a more prominent role than they did in the third book and a significant event takes place as each teen receives them. The possibilities and impossibilities of love are explored as Bridget is attracted to the married leader of the excavation team and Tibby fears she is pregnant. When Carmen auditions and lands a major role in the theater production, she worries that she cannot handle the part. Although squeamish at first, Lena becomes attracted to a fellow art student when they agree to pose in the nude for each other on weekends. Although the ending is a bit unrealistic, fans will surely suspend judgment as they delight in the story."

I am so so happy I finally got my butt in gear and read this series.

Girls in Pants; Third Summer by Ann Brashares

Best buds Tibby, Carmen, Lena and Bridget are back with their magical pair of shared jeans in Girls in Pants: The Third Summer of the Sisterhood. Each summer brings new and difficult challenges, as the perennially separated friends discover afresh this last season before college. Tibby struggles with the idea of close friend Brian becoming her boyfriend, and their fragile relationship is soon tested by a tragedy in her immediate family. Carmen doesn’t know how to react when she finds out that her middle-aged mom is pregnant, and Bridget is unpleasantly surprised to be reunited with the boy who broke her heart two summers ago. Finally, Lena, still coming to terms with the loss of her first love, tries to convince her strict father that art school is a better career path than Greek restaurant management.

But through every crisis, each girl is assured of the love and support of the created sisterhood when she pulls on the denim armor of the cherished, and by now, a bit fragrant ("Rule # 1. You must never wash the Pants.") Traveling Pants.

Ann Brashares has done it again, and yes most of you already know this, because I am ubber late reading this series. And to that I say, better late than never! I loved this book. I know I have already said this in the other review, but these books really take me back to my close group of friends when I was younger.

Ann Brashares is a whiz at getting you to remember the days, while loving the characters you are reading about on the pages!

I give this book 4 out of 5 stars!

The Second Summer of Sisterhood by Ann Brashares

Synopsis

Bridget: Impulsively sets off for Alabama, wanting to both confront her demons about her family and avoid them all at once.

Lena: Spends a blissful week with Kostos, making the unexplainable silence that follows his visit even more painful.

Carmen: Is concerned that her mother is making a fool of herself over a man. When she discovers that her mother borrowed the Pants to wear on a date, she's certain of it.

Tibby: Not about to spend another summer working at Wallman's, she takes a film course only to find it's what happens off-camera that teaches her the most.

" With a bit of last summer's sand in the pockets, the Traveling Pants and the sisterhood who wears them embark on their second summer together.

I found this book to be light and romantic. I love the bond these four girls have with each other. Takes me back to being thier age and remembering the bonds I had with my close friends! Very sweet book that I think all girls should read, well minus the magical pants. I am sure we had something that we found equally magical though.

I am giving this book 4 stars!

The Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants by Ann Brashares

Yet the pants settle on each girl's hips perfectly, making her look sexy and long-legged and feel confident as a teenager can feel. "These are magical Pants!" they realize, and so they make a pact to share them equally, to mail them back and forth over the summer from wherever they are. Beautiful, distant Lena is going to Greece to be with her grandparents; strong, athletic Bridget is off to soccer camp in Baja, California; hot-tempered Carmen plans to have her divorced father all to herself in South Carolina; and Tibby the rebel will be left at home to slave for minimum wage at Wallman's."

" we the sisterhood, hereby instate the following rules to govern the use of the traveling Pants:

1. You must never wash the Pants

2. You must never double cuff the Pants. It's tacky. There will never be a time when this will not be tacky.

3. You must never sayt he word 'phat' while wearing the Pants. You must also never think " I am fat" while wearing the Pants

4. You must never let a boy take off the Pants ( although you may take them off yourself in his presence).

5. You must never pick you nose while wearing the Pants. You may, however, scratch casually at your nostril while really kind of picking.

6. Upon our reunion, you must follow the proper procedures for documenting your time in the Pants.

7. You must write to your Sisters throughout the summer, no matter how much fun you are having without them

8. You must pass the pants along to your Sisters according to the specifications set down by the Sisterhood. Failure to comply will result in a severe spanking upon our reunion

9. You must not wear the Pants with a tucked-in shirt and belt. See rule #2

10. Remember: Pants= love. Love your pals. Love yourself.

I found this book to be very endearing. What teenage girl does not long to have friendships like the ones in this novel! You find yourself relating to each of the characters in one way or another!

I realize I am way late on reading this series, but I am just glad I finally got on board! I am giving this book 4 stars out of 5!
