One Day by David Nicholls {Review}

One Day

by David Nicholls

ebook
Published August 28th, 2009 by Hodder and Stoughton, Ltd.

Emma and Dexter meet for the first time on the night of their graduation. Tomorrow they must go their separate ways. So where will they be on this one day next year? And the year after that? And every year that follows? Twenty years, two people,

ONE DAY.

First Line: "I suppose the important thing is to make some sort of difference, she said"

Favorite Line: "This is where it all begins. Everything starts here, today."

My Review:

I have to be brutally honest to start. I ALMOST gave up on this book. It was a little slow at the beginning
and didn’t capture me right away. I didn’t admit defeat and happy that I stuck with it.

David Nicholls bases each chapter on the same day and progesses it yearly. Emma is the straight and narrow type of character with big dreams to change the world. Dexter is your party, live life to the fulllest kind of character. They seem like an odd pairing, but become the best of friends.  I loved the ups and downs of this relationship, and Nicholls does a good job in making me feel like this could be a real life friendship. I do wish that this book got to the point at times. I did find myself in shock at the end, which is why am so glad I pushed through and finished it.

Until next time... Happy Reading!

I have been reading this book, alongside another. I am still only a few chapters in, so thank you for the review! I'm happy to know it will be worth sticking with.
