About Author:

Leah is best known for her first two books, Kyle’s First Crush, and Kyle’s First Playdate.

Her first book, Kyle's First Crush, was published in 2006. The second, Kyle's First Playdate was released in November 2007. The books follow the young boy’s first love and friendship with a girl named Ashley Elizabeth. She’s not just any girl, but his very special girl friend and Orr’s daughter. The book chronicles their fun-filled adventures as told through Kyle’s eyes, a sweet, young romantic.

Upon learning that her daughter was diagnosed with Cystic Fibrosis (while still in the womb) Orr knew she wanted to do something special. With some input from her mother and three daughters, it was decided that she'd write books to benefit the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation.

Orr donates the proceeds from her books to the CF Foundation. Writing the books was her way of helping the charity and giving back at the same time. The Orr family has raised more than $400,000 over the past 7 years for the CF Foundation. Her mother, Josephine Lepore, is the master illustrator of the books.
