Matt is one stand up guy! Swoon!!!! This book had a good story line filled with action, danger and love!!!

The best way I can describe Harlequin novels is this: it is what you use to cleanse your palette. Translation: It helps me clear my mind when I feel like I am, or I am about to get into a reading funk. They are fast and simple reads.

I enjoyed " His Bride for One Night" although it was extremely predictable, but Harlequin novels are allowed to be this... I say so!!! My blog, my rules!

Poor Charlotte does not have luck when it comes to men!

A Touch of Silk

I love reading these books because they are good fillers, fast reads! I figured there was no reason for me not to be done with the Harlequin reading challenge, so I decided to hope on this one.

I enjoyed this book, it was lusty without being over the top corny, and let me tell you there is a fine line between the two! HA HA HA!

I will give this book 4 stars.

Men of Thorne Island: Review

Men of Thorne Island by Cynthia Thomason


This is my second book I have read for the Harlequin Romance Challenge.


"When Sara Crawford arrives on Thorne Island, she discovers that her inheritance is nothing like the photo in the glossy brochures the lawyer presented. For a start, the dock's about to collapse into the lake. And The Cozy Cove Inn, so charmingly depicted in the pamphlet, is in desperate need of a paintbrush and a vacuum.


" Another detail- not mentioned in the advertising or in her aunt's will- is the fact that the island has four long term inhabitants, each with an unbreakable lease. Three intensely private, cantankerous recluses who want no part of Sara's improvement plans. And one cynical, sexy man with a secret who is opposed to change.


" But Sara's never backed away from a challenge. And Nick Bass is the most attractive challenge she's met in a long time!"


I enjoyed this book for many reasons... 1). Sara Crawford and Nick Bass remind me of my hubby and I. They had such great chemistry and loved picking on one another, what more does a relationship need? 2). Sara was just an everyday gal, no glamous job, just a simple girl, and sometimes these books go over the top in their female character descriptions, I mean we all can't be blondes with big boobs!
HA HA HA


I do wish that there was more details about the Island, I just felt that if a few more pages were added to the story, I could have seen the Island more, actually put myself in the story/Island.


I give this book a solid 4 stars on my rating system!

Back in Kansas: Book Review

I just finished reading Back in Kansas by Debra Salone. I read this book for The Harlequin/Silhouette Reading Challenge. I use to read these books a lot, espically when hubby was overseas in Iraq... ha ha ha!

Okay get back to the review Tena!

But before she can allow herself to fall in love, she has to go back to Kansas to confront the family she hasn't seen in nearly twenty years....

" So one evening she leaves her California home without telling a soul. But she'd underestimated Bo's skill as a private investigator. He tracks her down and joins her. Together they travel east, stopping to look up brothers and sisters Claudies barely recognizes. Till they reach Otter Creek, Kansas....

" Suddenly, as she prepares to right and old wrong, Claudie's very grateful that Bo is with her...."

I had a really hard getting into this book, and I don't think it had anything to do with the book itself. It was totally me, and reading nothing but Vampires and such. Should take this as a lesson and change it up more often and not get stuck on one type of book.

Once I got to about page 100 I was able to wrap my brain around the story line and the characters. It was nice when I thought the story was going everywhere it could possibly go, just to find it did in fact go in a whole new direction.

On my rating scale I will give this book 3 1/2 stars.
